This programme is designed to provide high quality education in theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in various aspects of hospitality management for those who wish to pursue or further advance their careers in hospitality management.
The Management Programme is designed to meet the following objectives:
1. Equip students with knowledge of and skills in both theory and management practice in the areas of
hotel and tourism environment including front office, housekeeping, food & beverage, tour guide,
ticketing & reservations, customer service, air stewarding and cruise;
2. familiarize students with the hospitality environment through internship programmes and practical
hands-on training;

3. enable students to develop their problem-solving and communication skills;
4. develop students' analytical skills;
5. nurture students as responsible, ethical and independent managers;
6. broaden students' perspectives to enhance their continued personal and professional development; and
7. broaden students' horizons through visits to hotels and tourism organisations and participation in relevant talks, workshops, and seminars.
On successful completion of the course, students should be able to:
Demonstrate a broad knowledge of the following aspects of hospitality management:
1. principles and practices of management;
2. marketing management;
3. accounting;
4. financial management;
5. human resources management;
6. hotel management;
7. tourism management;
8. food and beverage management;
9. event management;
10. catering management
2. Integrate these aspects of management studies in decision making within an organisation;
3. Analyse and interpret management information;
4. Make decisions based on the information available;
5. Communicate information effectively;
6. Understand the nature and objectives of an hotel and tourism practices.
7. Understand and apply the theoretical aspects of hospitality management;
8. Analyse and interpret the business environment in which hospitality management is affected;
9. Apply management decision-making techniques to practical hospitality management situations that
are likely to be encountered by a manager;
10. Describe the underlying theories of hospitality management and describe the conceptual framework
of hospitality management;
11. Explain and apply the theories and practices of hospitality management.
