#Liqueur are defined as sweetened and flavoured spirits. They should not be confused with liqueur spirits which may be whiskies or brandies of great age and quality. For instance, a brandy liqueur is a liqueur with brandy as a basic ingredient, whilst a liqueur brandy may be defined as a brandy of great age and excellence. What is the difference between a liquor and a liqueur?

Cream liqueurs have added cream, and créme liqueurs are much sweeter, likened to a potent syrup. Liqueurs also referred as cordials, and they were often used medicinally. Grand Marnier is an example of an orange liqueur which makes a very flavorful ingredient in so many recipes.
