The travel and tourism industry has registered a marked growth of about 15% ever since the economic downturn and the 26/11 Mumbai attack. In 2011, the Foreign Tourist Arrivals(FTA) is expected to touch 6.5 million and domestic travellers to almost 350 million which mainly consists of travel to visit friends and relatives, pilgrimage centres, holiday travel and meetings and conventions.
